Incandescent bulbs work by conducting an electric current along a filament of long, thin piece of wire made of Tungsten Metal. The temperature of the filament must reach temperatures of 2,300Cº to glow and produce a white-hot light. Only 5-10% after the process turns the electricity into visible light. The rest of the percentage is turned into heat which eventually increases the temperature of a room.
